Snowdrops Room
Our baby Snowdrops Room caters for all babies between the ages of 3 months to 2 years. Just like our babies, the snowdrop flower is beautiful, delicate and ushers in new growth.

Daisy Room
Our Daisy Room caters for toddlers between the ages of 2 to 3 years. The daisy flower represents innocence and purity. It is a true reflection of this wonderful age group.

Bluebells Room ❀
In Bluebells, we cater for children between the ages of 3 and 4 years old.  The bluebell flower needs no introduction. It is vibrant and stands out wherever it is planted. Our 3 and 4 year olds are bright, inquisitive and ready to bloom… a true reflection of the bluebell flower.

Key Stage One : Reception Class, Year 1 and Year 2

Early Years education continues seamlessly into our Reception Class within a well balanced class of children consisting of those making the transition from our nursery Bluebells room and new children joining the Hampton Prep School. By the time our children reach the Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 classes, they have successfully internalised that learning is exciting and adventurous; not just something that they 'have' to do.

Their creativity and ideas are encouraged and valued. In Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, children are given daily opportunities to explore and investigate, allowing them to learn about themselves and the world around them. The learning experience is balanced between teacher-led and child initiated learning. More structured learning is integrated into a weekly time-table following the core British curriculum to guarantee a varied and exciting programme intended to motivate and stimulate each individual child.

In Year 1 and Year 2, emphasis is placed on building the child's confidence in tackling reading, writing, and mathematics in a caring and supportive environment. Our teaching structure is geared towards allowing each child to learn at their own pace whilst building good self esteem. Our interactive whiteboard is used to deliver the curriculum with a wide variety of software programs, interactive websites and learning games.

❍     In addition to the class teacher, the children's learning is supported by specialist teachers for music, languages such as French, Mandarin and Spanish, as well as I.C.T and a wide variety of sporting activities. We continue to maintain a very close daily feedback relationship with parents to ensure learning continues within the home environment. In Year 1 and Year 2, children are encouraged to develop a strong sense of self discipline and self worth by giving them responsibilities for specific duties within their class.

❍     From your child’s very first day at Hampton, we lay the foundation for a love of learning that will remain with them throughout the course of their school life, providing a bedrock for future success in all areas of their lives. We aim to nurture each child to develop their all-round potential by providing opportunities for development. Our small class sizes, experienced staff and highly individualised approach ensure your child receives focused attention in a safe, enjoyable, caring and creative environment. We provide pupils with the knowledge and tools to become independent learners, develop their thinking skills and encourage their active involvement in their own learning. Our small community will enable your child to make close friendships and develop good relationships with their teachers, allowing them to grow in confidence, be able to express themselves and be challenged as they actively engage in their learning. Learning regularly takes place outside of the classroom including trips, outdoor learning and local visits to historical places of interest.

At Key Stage One, we provide our children with a smooth transition from Reception into a more formal, but nurturing approach to teaching and learning. Following on from the Early Years Foundation Stage, our child-centred approach gives each child a part in shaping their own learning environment. Children are listened to, and as a result, they in turn learn to value other people’s opinions and work together as a stronger and more harmonious team. Our creative approach to the curriculum allows children to make links between all aspects of their learning around a given topic each term. This enables them to grow in confidence and strengthens their knowledge of the areas covered in each unit of work. As a creative and forward thinking school, we strive to give a broad range of opportunities both in and out of the classroom. Children are encouraged to read every day and daily homework is also given. We are proud of our school, where we foster a family and friendly atmosphere, and learning is fun and exciting.
