Middle School

Key Stage Two : Years 3 to 6

📚     At Hampton we believe the best learners are happy learners who are respected and involved in their education.  In Key Stage 2, teaching is more subject based, although pupils are still mainly taught by their form teacher who combines close pastoral care with academic support. The children continue to follow a broad curriculum including Mathematics, English and Science together with History, Geography, PE, I.C.T, Music, PSHE, Swimming and Art & Design.  In Year 6, children are selected to take on added responsibilities.  These range from being Head Boy or Head Girl to being Sports Captain for their House or a Library Monitor. Throughout the school there is an exceptionally good relationship between all of the children, and we foster mutual respect and good manners as a core value at Hampton.

📚     We keep parents closely informed about their child’s progress. Our aim is to promote close links between home and school, building a strong partnership with parents. Our small class size will ensure that teachers know every child as an individual and treat them as such. There will be a large emphasis on pastoral support, ensuring that our children are well cared for. Enjoying their school experience is of paramount importance to us. We have high aspirations for all of our children and want them to leave Hampton as confident, determined and resilient individuals, who have acquired a life-long love of learning with a successful transition into Secondary School, and beyond. We currently have strong partnerships with excellent secondary schools both at home and abroad. We will ensure the smooth transition of our children via entrance exams and we will arrange all the the required interviews. We will also work with parents to ensure that gifted children have access to all the potential scholarships within the Academic, Sports, Art and Music departments in all the top schools each year.
